Three-dimensional Transformation and Information Reorganization in Chinese-English Translation of Press Conference

| Abstract: | The press conference is an important platform for national representatives to express state altitude, explain position of a country and offer Chinese wisdom. Facing complex and volatile international situation, spokesman needs to maintain political sensitivity with reasons, facts and measures while response to questions posed by journalists in the media. The research was conducted with three-dimensional transformation of Eco-translatology as its framework, and selected the answers of Premier of China in press conference of Two Sessions on 3, March, 2023 as its linguistic materials, with a study of the strategies employed by translators to reorganize the consecutive interpretation for the answers of Premier in line with the “Ecological Environment” of the time from the perspectives of language, communication and culture and offered corresponding translation measures to help journalists grasp accurate information. This research is conducted to convey China's voice in abundance to every country around the world and enhance international influence of China’s voice in globalization era. The research found that amplification, shift, omission, combination and other strategies are the result of adaption and selection from linguistic, cultural and communicative dimension. |
