The Study of Cultural Identity in Cross-cultural Interactions

| Abstract: | In today's turbulent tide of globalization, cultural identity is becoming increasingly important as a spiritual link between individuals and society, past and future. Cultural identity includes both the sense of cultural identity embodied by a certain group and the personal cultural awareness displayed by an individual. Understanding the origin and definition of cultural identity, as well as how it is formed, helps us better understand cultural identity. Several important characteristics of cultural identity, such as gender, race, ethnicity, regional factors, and class, have played an important role in human cross-cultural communication and human history. Because groups interact on the basis of cultural categories through judgmental behavior, we tend to be greatly influenced by these categories. In today's new era, we need to recognize the limitations and constraints of cultural identity, get rid of its shackles in cross-cultural communication, and better promote successful cross-cultural communication. At the same time, it is necessary to enhance the sense of cultural identity and strengthen cultural self-confidence, so as to behave appropriately in cross-cultural communication, without being humble or arrogant. |
