巴西尔•沃斯福尔德原著两个中译本对比研究－商务印书馆《文学通诠》述评

| 摘 要： | 2021年12月底，为纪念著名翻译家严复先生逝世100周年，商务印书馆出版了英国作家巴西尔•沃斯福尔德著，罗选民全译/导读的《文学通诠》。本书收录了罗选民教授撰写的代序和其全译本《文学通诠》、严复的汉译了三章的节译本《美术通诠》以及沃斯福尔德（W. Basil. Worsfold）1900年出版的英文原著On the Exercise of Judgment in Literature的（《文学中的判断》）这三个部分，从而完成了两个汉译本和英文原著之间跨越了一个世纪的互文性建构。本文对该书的主要内容和特色进行简介，同时采用比较和对比的方法，在简评部分深入分析罗选民全译本和严复节译本的异同，共性在于都认为翻译是服务于意识形态和政治目的的行为；差别在于罗严不同的翻译理念导致了不同的翻译结果，特别是两个译本对于书名的处理完全不同。通过同质性的比较和异质性的对比，本文旨在唤起人文学界更多学者对这部西著汉译的互文性和翻译社会学的关注。 |

Contrastive Research on Two Chinese Translation Versions of W. Basil. Worsfold - A Bookreview of On the Exercise of Judgment in Literature Published by the Commercial Press

| Abstract: | At the end of December 2021, in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of Mr. Yan Fu, a famous translator, the Commercial Press published On the Exercise of Judgment in Literature, written by British writer W. Basil. Worsfold in 1900. This book includes the preface written by Professor Luo Xuanmin and his complete translation, Mr. Yan Fu's three-chapter abridged translation, thus completing the construction of intertextuality between the two Chinese translation versions and the English original work lasting for more than a century. This paper gives a brief introduction to the main contents and features of the book, and uses both comparative and contrastive methods to deeply analyze the similarities and differences between Luo's translation and Yan's translation. It holds that the commonness lies in that translation is an act that serves ideological and political purposes; the difference is that different translation ideas lead to different translation results, especially the two versions have completely different treatment of the book title. Through the analysis of homogeneity and heterogeneity, this paper aims to arouse more scholars' attention to the intertextuality and sociology of translation. |
