日常中的超越：论《美国志》中的自我意识危机与世俗灵性

| 摘 要： | 评论家多将小说《美国志》视为德里罗后现代创作的开端，这种观点未能充分考虑到该作品的灵性与伦理维度。诚然，主人公贝尔的自我意识危机与精神伦理困境，源自于后现代社会中人际关系的异化和媒介拟像对主体意识的毁灭影响。然而，与典型的后现代作品不同，德里罗并未在自己的首部长篇小说中安排无人获救的悲观结局，而是把对后现代社会的批判根植于对当代人灵性困境的考察与出路的探索之上。从世俗灵性的视角来看，贝尔的自我探索并非一次注定的失败之旅，而是经历了由自我意识危机和伦理虚无主义，到灵性觉醒和内在超越的积极转化过程。通过描述贝尔在写作这项世俗日常中对真实自我的灵性体悟，德里罗暗示后现代个体化解自我意识危机的一条可能出路。 |

The Transcendence in Mundanity: On the Crisis of Self-identity and Secular Spirituality in Americana

| Abstract: | Critics often regard Americana as the beginning of DeLillo’s postmodern novels, which fails to fully consider the spiritual and ethical dimensions of his debut novel. While it is true that the protagonist David Bell’s crisis of self-identity and spiritual predicament result from the alienation of interpersonal relationship in postmodern society and the damage on subjectivity caused by media simulacra. However, different from typical postmodern literary works, DeLillo, in his debut novel, didn’t arrange a tragic ending in which nobody gets redemption. Instead, his criticism of postmodern society is based on his examination on the spiritual predicament of people in contemporary times and possible solutions. From the perspective of secular spirituality, this paper asserts that the protagonist Bell’s self-exploration is not a destined journey of failure, but rather a positive transformation from the crisis of self-identity and ethical nihilism to the spiritual awakening and immanent transcendence. Through describing Bell’s epiphany of his authentic self in the mundane activity of writing, DeLillo displays for the postmodern individual a possible solution to the crisis of their self-identity. |
