Abstract: In an era where globalization shapes cross-cultural interactions, transnational cinema serves as a vital platform for promoting international cooperation and cultural exchange. This study delves into the representation of Eastern cultures in transnational films, using Memoirs of a Geisha (2004) and other Western films centered around Eastern themes as primary case studies. The research examines the effectiveness of these films in disseminating Eastern cultural values through the analysis of cultural symbols, the casting of transnational actors, and the historical narratives constructed by Western filmmakers. Findings indicate that, despite the intent to foster cultural understanding, transnational cinema often falls short due to recurring misrepresentations and biases. Cultural symbols are frequently oversimplified, reducing their significance and failing to convey the depth of the traditions they represent. Misinterpretations in historical portrayal and the selection of actors — often with ambiguous cultural backgrounds — further complicate the transmission of authentic Eastern cultural perspectives. Additionally, language barriers add another layer of miscommunication, reinforcing stereotypes rather than dismantling them. These challenges underscore the limitations of transnational cinema in accurately representing Eastern cultures, suggesting that without a more nuanced, respectful approach to cultural portrayal, the medium’s potential to bridge cultural gaps remains constrained. This research calls for an enhanced commitment to cultural accuracy and sensitivity in global filmmaking to better support genuine intercultural dialogue and understanding.Abstract: In an era where globalization shapes cross-cultural interactions, transnational cinema serves as a vital platform for promoting international cooperation and cultural exchange. Abstract: Left-wing literature was the most important literary trend in Thailand in the 20th century, becoming a significant force in raising public social consciousness. The development history of left-wing literature in Thailand is not only a history of literary development, but also a history of the awakening of Thai people's thoughts and a history of mutual learning among civilizations. The local radical ideology and the movement of communism outside the country are the ideological foundations for the emergence and development of left-wing literature in Thailand. Left-wing literati, the Communist Party of Thailand, radical students, and a large receptive group are the main forces driving the development of left-wing literature in Thailand. A large number of associations and publications are the main battlefield for the development of left-wing literature in Thailand. Thai left-wing literature originated in the early 20th century when Thai society and politics were rapidly turbulent, and experienced peaks and valleys with the continuous changes in Thai society and politics, playing an irreplaceable role in improving the ideological consciousness of the Thai people. After nearly a century of development, under the impact of the global wave of political democratization in the 1990s, left-wing literature in Thailand gradually declined. Thai left-wing literature is a shining pearl in the history of Thai literature, creating countless classic works that are still difficult to surpass, showcasing the "humanity" characteristics of literature. These works are a valuable cultural heritage for both Thai literature and the entire world literature.Abstract: Left-wing literature was the most important literary trend in Thailand in the 20th century, becoming a significant force in raising public social consciousness. Abstract: The ancient tea forest landscape of Jingmai Mountain in Pu'er, recognized for its unparalleled role in the global tea cultural heritage, was officially inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List on September 17, 2023. This international acknowledgment underscores the profound value of Pu'er tea culture and opens a new avenue for exploring its international communication strategies. The research probes into the international dissemination strategies of Pu'er tea culture, with a particular focus on English translation methods that enhance cross-cultural understanding and exchange. Anchored in ecological translation theory and guided by the principle of "translator's adaptive selection", the research employs a comprehensive array of strategies, including source/target language ecological alignment, deconstruction and re-presentation, and environmental enrichment, to systematically investigate a spectrum of translation techniques such as literal translation, transliteration, interpretative translation, annotation, and amplification. The findings reveal that the nuanced application of these techniques can foster an ecological equilibrium between the source text and its translation, effectively advancing the global reach of Pu'er tea culture.
