Abstract: Objective: Analysis of the influence for number/types of books reading after school for primary school students on their grades of writing, which would provide solid evidence on supporting the recommendation the types of the books for primary school students after class. Methods: The dataset of students from classes A and B of a primary school in Yunnan were collected in September 2022, including the formal reading scores in this semester, the reading lists of 88 students from classed and B were collected and analyzed here. Results: The grads for writing of the students from class B was higher than that of students from class A, however, no significant difference was detected (P>0.05), and the reading volume of students from class B was higher than that of students from class A, and the significantly difference was detected between two class (P<0.05). The results of regression analysis suggested that reading type was the most important factor affecting the grade level of writing for primary school students, especially the number of reading books belonging to literary might have important impact on their witting. Abstract: Instruction is the behaviour with purposes and reasons. The objectives in instruction are the expectations of learners’ learning results, which expresses the purposes. When the objectives, teaching activities and assessment in instruction are designed based on learning outcomes, educators are able to prove by this assessment that what they educate is exactly what learners should learn, which expresses the reasons. Being aimed at the contradiction between more teaching contents and less class hours in specialized courses at present, in this article are researched the method of designing teaching activities on the premise of ensuring instruction quality, and the method of assessing learners’ learning outcomes which is able to reflect instruction effectiveness. Within the framework of objectives taxonomy constructed by the two attributes of knowledge and cognitive processes, taking the course of Power System Analysis in polytechnic universities as an example, in this article an instructional design which reflects the purposes and reasons of instruction is presented in the form of instruction cases, and the rationality of the design of the objectives, teaching activities and assessment is analyzed, researched and improved, and also is the consistency between the three of them. This instructional design has been applied to the undergraduate instruction in the specialized subject of electrical engineering and automation at Liaoning Technical University, from which hundreds of students in multiple grades are benefited. These instructing practices illustrate that with its application the engagement and activity of students in class activities are all improved significantly, such negative situations as the scope delineation by pestering educators and the cramming of students for final examinations are reduced. And also, the improvement of instruction quality is accordingly promoted to some extent. Abstract: Technological psychological capital is the psychological capital that plays a key role in technological learning and plays a key role in individual technological mastery. In this paper, a qualitative case study has been conducted to describe the process and strategy of College English teachers’ educational technology learning, in order to explore the connotation and interactive relationship of their educational technology learning practice and strategy, and to clarify the specific evolution and construction mode of teachers’ individual technological psychological capital. The research finds that teachers have different learning strategies for their educational technology learning because of different personal backgrounds and specific situations, which makes teachers present different practical characteristics in the process of educational technology learning. College English teachers improve their technological psychological capital from the aspects of technical efficiency, technical hope, technical optimism and technical resilience through the practical strategies of technology request, technology use, technology understanding and technology transfer. Teachers’ own teaching-learning-research background, technical background, teaching-research environment, technical environment, and the technical learning support they can obtain are the main factors influencing the development of their technological psychological capital and the practical strategy of teachers’ technology learning. Abstract: Learners’ emotions have long been regarded as an insignificant and irrational factor in the field of second language acquisition (SLA). In recent years, with the “affective turn” transpiring in applied linguistics, learners’ emotions have gained more scholarly attention, among which is language learners’ flow experience. Flow is one concept in psychology, which includes positive flow (e.g., enjoyment) and negative flow (also known as “anti-flow”, such as anxiety, boredom, etc.). At present, the bulk of the SLA research on English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) learners’ flow experience has been situated in the traditional teaching settings, while EFL learners’ flow experience in the blended teaching contexts remains under-investigated. In view of this, this study adopts a quantitative research method to probe into the flow and anti-flow experiences of 168 EFL learners in a certain application-oriented university in China. Results show that 1) The enjoyment experienced by learners is at a medium level, while boredom and anxiety are at a low level; 2) There are gender differences in learners’ emotional experience, but no grade difference has been found; 3) Enjoyment is significantly and negatively correlated with boredom and anxiety, and the latter two are significantly and positively correlated; 4) The three emotions can, to a certain degree, predict the self-perceived English proficiency and CET-4 scores. Abstract: In order to change the traditional teacher-centered teaching method in the "Professional English" and improve the students' application ability of "Professional English", CBI (Content Based Instruction) teaching method is introduced into the "Professional English" course for undergraduates majoring in materials. This method emphasizes the autonomous learning method based on the content of materials science and engineering, so as to strengthen the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, improve students' ability to apply English in the professional field, and stimulate students' autonomous learning initiative and learning efficiency. Using the literature search method, students can choose their own professional knowledge and preview before class. Using the flipped classroom method, students are encouraged to carry out teaching activities in the class, such as trial lectures and classroom discussions. A process assessment based on classroom performance has been established. The results show that students' ability to express themselves in professional English has been strengthened and their learning efficiency has been generally improved. Abstract: This study aims to explore the challenges present in the elementary English education of Northeast China, in addition to proposing some corresponding solutions. After referring to previous researches and detailed analyses, this study discovers that these challenges mainly cover insufficient teaching staff, undesirable educational quality and shortage of educational resources. To crack these problems, some measures should be adopted, including attracting the local graduates majoring in English and English Education to return and work as teachers, implementing in-service training and further education, setting up libraries and purchasing English books, as well as introducing modern English teaching facilities.
